He had to crawl on the grass,
through some barkdust,
and on to the raised gravel cement patio, treating the surfaces like they were indoor carpet.
As he approached his goal of reaching the cat, Nathan's furry friend eluded him and ran for the grass as quickly as he could. You see, Jonah is not fond of kids. In fact, he is not fond of any other person except me. Nathan turned around and followed the same path back out to the grass to catch the kitty. He had a goal in mind and he was determined to reach it, even if it meant having to deal with all of his texture aversions. Unfortunately Nathan was never able to catch Jonah, so I helped him reach his goal and scooped the crazy feline up into my arms so he could be rewarded for his efforts.
The best part of this is that Nathan GOT DIRTY and he didn't care. My boy has never had an ounce of dirt on him, except for dirt from the carpet and wood floors. He loved every minute of it, so did I.

Aww, I loved this post! Good for Nathan! What a great adventure! :)
ReplyDeleteSweet filthy fellow! I still feel a twinge of pride for Addie when she's down in things, even though her aversions subsided years ago. Hope Addie and Nathan can roll down a grass hill together one day soon - it is a current favorite over here (having had the same hatred for grass early on). Cheers!
ReplyDeleteGo Jonah, the new physical therapist! I always loved finding something new that would motivate Natalie: for crawling, it was having our telephone on the floor in front of her. I'm sure if we'd had a cat, that would also have been a great motivator!
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteWhen I design custom invitations, I offer to design custom postage for my clients to complete the look of their invitation package. The party starts when the guests open their invitations, so setting the tone of the party with the invitation is important. But even before the envelope is opened, the first impression the guest has of the invitation is what’s on the outside.
