Birthday Celebration

What a week for my sweet two year old. Wednesday was his "real" birthday and we had my husband's parents over for dinner and cake. It was kind of tricky to pull off because earlier in the day we lost power and had to pick up and go to my moms so I could cook dinner over there. Thankfully, the power came back on and we were able to come home for our celebration.

Boy oh boy did we have lots to celebrate. Not only did Nathan turn two, he ate, no, CHEWED AND SWALLOWED, chicken. He also chewed a little pasta shell and swallowed it. No choking, no gagging and turning purple, no vomit. What a birthday gift that was!

Here are a few pics of the evening for you to enjoy...

Looking at the new alphabet cards Grandma got for him...

Opening a new Matchbox play set...

Sitting on his new tricycle. This is the most awesome trike ever invented. Love the safety features on it!

We had another birthday party for Nathan at our house on Saturday with my parents, sister and family friends. Nathan was in fine form as he entertained with his smiles, clapping, famous "hat" signing bit, and his new skill of walking with only holding on to one hand for support. He was full of life all day long!

Nathan's auntie followed him around and took these awesome pictures throughout the day. She captured some precious moments.

Signing "I love you" to Auntie...

Entertaining with his famous "hat" bit. Yes, we encourage it. It brings us joy!

Sweet sister...

Big boy Nathan! Bella said that he looked so much bigger today than he did yesterday now that he is two. I agree :)

Showing Grandpa how to push buttons on his new book.

Giving Auntie licks (aka: Nathan kisses).

Deciding whether he wants to touch his cake or not...NOT! That's o.k. he will some day.

Daddy's beautiful masterpiece...

New power wheels from Grandma and Grandpa. He loves it! His right angulated thumb is going to need to get stronger so he can push the "go" button on his own!

Lots of packages to open!

Showing us a picture of his fire truck decoration. He likes to point to things and have us tell him what it is. Can you guess what he's pointing to in this picture?

Playing clapping games with Daddy while everyone finishes up their dinner.

And...a sweet smile for Grandma. He adores her more and more every day.

Ahh...we are so blessed.

  1. What a great celebration. Wow, Nathan, you got quite a lot of cool presents! And you're way ahead of where I was in the walking department at age 2! You are a great boy and I can't wait to meet you.
